The story felt like it could have gone on for a volume or longer, or it might just be one of those cliffhanger stories that keep you reading. The juxtaposition between Hirota and Tachibana was interesting, they both ended up as familiars (for the sisters) clashing against each other while both caring a lot for Chika. She has a pure heart and is concerned for Hirota but eventually gets dragged into this world as well. Asides from Hirota what happens to Chika is just as tragic.
The narrative is gripping and the focus characters (Hirota, Chika, Tachibana, Miwako) were nice to follow. Definitely intended for mature audiences, gore + nudity. She's one of the four originals (a group of sisters), though only one other sister (Tamaki) gets featured prominently. Hirota, the MC, gets turned into a monstrous familiar by Miwako, someone belonging to the blood race. A tragic story about how a boy stumbles upon a dark side of the world he didn't know existed.
